Recently I advised a friend to purchase a Canon 600D for their partner, so she could use it for film making and photography. I also said I'd build a simple guide for her reference to help her learn the camera quickly. Having a 600D myself and using it for around four years to make short films, shoot timelapses and occasionally using it for photographs (however I'm normally a Nikon photographer, Canon's feel fiddly to me); I believed i'd be able to help her learn it with a few pages of helpful notes.
Now that it is done I thought I'd release it to the general public, incase anyone else found it useful. Even though this guide is specifically for the 600D, many of the same principals and techniques written in this will be helpful with other cameras, such as the: 550D, 650D, 700D, 7D, 6D, 5D etc etc; but the 600D specific parts like button layout won't be so universally accepted.
The guide is entirely about user functions and how to use the camera, it doesn't contain much technical jargon regarding video codecs or how to post process your images/videos, however if people would like this adding in then I'd be happy to do so.
So please do download it here and any comments are welcome.
